Error 629

This type of error occurs when there is no connection between your computer and the access server.

This error occurs if your username and password are already connected (remember if you let someone you know use your Internet), if not, then this connection is not broken on the server. To do this, wait 10 minutes, and try to connect again after this time ... If nothing helped on the 3rd attempt, then I advise you to contact support.

Error 650

The remote access server is not responding. The Internet access server is unavailable.

Check if "Local Area Connection" is enabled, if the network card is working, if the network cable is working, if the client's IP address is set correctly in the IP connection settings.

Error 651

If you are connecting to a virtual private network (VPN), you may have specified an incorrect TCP/IP address when you set up the connection, or the server you are trying to connect to is not currently available.

Error 678

The connection could not be established because the remote computer did not respond to the connection request. Do the following:

Check that the hostname or IP address of the destination server is correct and try to connect again. To view connection properties, right-click the desired connection, select Properties, and then view the details on the General tab. For more information, contact technical support.

You may need to install updated drivers for your network card or other communication device. For more information, contact the hardware manufacturer.

Error 721

The remote computer is not responding.

This issue can occur if the network firewall does not allow GRE traffic. GRE is IP protocol 47. PPTP uses GRE for data tunneling. To resolve this issue, you must configure your network firewall to allow GRE protocol 47. You must also ensure that your network firewall allows TCP traffic on port 1723. Both of these conditions must be met in order to establish a VPN connection using PPTP.

Error 735

The requested address was rejected by the server.

You have configured the VPN connection incorrectly to access the Internet. Most likely, in the TCP / IP settings of the VPN connection, you registered a specific IP address when it should be allocated automatically.

Error 737

The local and remote computers involved in the PPP session are the same computer. This means that a device, such as a modem, on the line receives the reflected characters back. Try resetting the devices.

For non-IBM servers, this may mean that the remote server tries to log in using teletypewriter (TTY) before connecting. Terminal configuration for use after connection is established can be done on the security tab

Errors 741 - 743

Encryption settings are incorrectly configured.

Go to the VPN connection settings, and in the "Security" tab, disable the "data encryption" item.

Error 769

Go to the VPN connection settings and on the "Network" tab, from the "Type of VPN" list, select "Automatic". Try reconnecting.

Error 800

Problem connecting to VPN

Possible reasons:

The firewall blocks outgoing requests for VPN connections, which in principle happens, but not so often.
For some reason, the request does not reach the server, i.e. perhaps the backbone equipment of your segment does not pass the request due to a load or failure.
The server sends a response about the inability to connect. At the moment, there are a large number of simultaneous attempts to connect from your account.
For some reason, your set of equipment does not work.

Possible fixes:

Check is enabled and running at this point in time.
Check the passage of the signal with the ping command to the vpn server.
Restart your computer

  1. Automatic or voluntary blocking
  2. Incorrect login or password
  3. The VPN server is incorrectly specified in the settings (should be vpn.site)
  4. There is a user or administrative block in the statistics system.

Error 868

The reasons

The remote connection could not be established because the name of the remote access server could not be resolved.

Solution

This error occurs only in the Windows 7 operating system.

  1. Disable-enable "Local Area Connection". Start → Control Panel → Network and Internet / Network and Sharing Center → Change adapter settings, Turn off and on "Local Area Connection".
  2. Restart DNS Client Services. Start → Control Panel → System and Security / Administrative Tools → Services - find the "DNS client", right-click and select "Restart".

Also, error 868 can be analogous to error 800.

Error 800/868

The error occurs when the computer is unable to contact the VPN server. First take note of the server addresses − vpn.site You can only connect to this address, not to any others.

  1. Status (Enabled/Disabled) Local Area Connections (may also be referred to as LAN or Broadband Connection).
  2. The VPN server address is correct and the security settings are configured.
  3. Are you getting an address from our DHCP server.
  4. Is there a physical connection.
  5. Firewall settings.

1. In Windows 2000/XP/2003 systems, "Local Area Connection" is disabled

  1. Open the "Control Panel" (Start → Control Panel).
  2. Open "Network Connections" by double-clicking.
  3. Right click on "Local Area Connection". If the top menu item is called "Enable", select it with a left click.

Examination.
If everything went well, then at the bottom of the screen you will see an inscription with approximately the following content: “Connected”. Now try to connect as you normally would.

2A. Error in security settings

Try to connect.

2B. VPN connection settings broken

Make sure that the server address is specified in the properties of the VPN connection on the General tab vpn.site.

3. Checking for the assignment of the "correct" address

Option 1:
For Windows 98/Me systems:

Start → Run → command → Enter. In the window that opens: winipcfg → Enter (Enter).

For Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 systems:

Start → Run → cmd → Enter (Enter). In the window that opens: Write ipconfig → Enter.

Option 2:
For Windows XP systems:

Start → Settings → Control Panel → Network Connections → right click "Local Area Connection" → Status → Support → Details.

For Windows Vista/7 systems:

Start → Control Panel → Network and Sharing Center → Manage Network Connections (Windows Vista) or Change adapter settings (Windows 7) → right-click "Local Area Connection" → Status → Details.

"Invalid" addresses are those that start with 169.X.X.X. Windows assigns this address automatically if it fails to connect to the DHCP server (the server that issues IP addresses to clients). If you receive such an address, then you need to call the Technical Support Service.

4. No physical connection between cable and network card

Usually, this situation is indicated by the so-called "red cross" on the connection.

In this case, you need to make sure that the network cable connector is securely inserted into the network card. To do this, you can pull it out of the network card and insert it back. Usually, a characteristic click is heard.

If you are sure that the connection is reliable, then in order to solve this problem, you will need to contact the technical support service.

5. Firewall settings

. Error 800 and Error 1232 - Problem Connecting to VPN

Possible reasons:

1. The firewall blocks outgoing requests for VPN connections, which in principle happens, but not so often.

2. For some reason, the request does not reach the server, i.e. perhaps the gateway of your segment does not allow the request due to the load or failure. That can also happen, but rarely.

3. The server sends a response about the inability to connect. There are currently a large number of concurrent connection attempts.

Possible solutions:

1. Check if the local network is working at this point in time.

2. Check the passage of the signal with the ping command to your gateway, and then to your authorization server. Click the "Start"->"Run" button. In the line, enter the command: cmd and in the window that opens, type the ping command.

For example:

If in the opened DOS-window you will see something like "Specified host is unavailable" or "Timed out for request", then there may be problems on your computer or on the line. If there is a response from the host at the specified speed (usually this happens quickly and the window disappears quickly), then most likely the problem is in your computer. In any case, check the first point (1) and follow the steps below. paragraph (3).

3. Restart your computer.

Error 789 - occurs because the type of VPN connection on the Network tab (L2TP IPSec), which is located in the Virtual Connection properties, is not specified correctly. How to do it: First, go to the Properties of the VPN connection, to do this, right-click on the icon and select properties. Open the network tab, then find Internet Protocol TCP/IP, select it and click properties. Check the box "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically", then click OK and try to connect.

Error 691 - The username or password is not recognized by the domain. You ran out of funds on your personal account, re-enter your username and password, or you need to re-create a VPN connection

Error 678- vpn occurs because the remote computer is not responding, that is, there is no connection between your personal computer and the access server. Basically, error 678 vpn occurs due to the fault of the client, not the server. The above error can occur for the following reasons: Your network card is faulty. The connection is being blocked by an antivirus or firewall. If everything is in order on your side, then there are problems on the remote server, and you just have to wait until they are fixed.

Error 624 - When you create a new network connection, error 624 may occur. Let's see how this error is fixed.

Error 624 may occur due to the fact that the creation of a connection is prohibited. You can fix this as follows: Click Start -> Run -> gpedit.msc, and then everything is clear and you can figure it out yourself. Also, an error may occur due to the prohibition of access to the Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Connections\Pbk folder. In this case, you must open access to the folder. In addition, error 624 may occur due to operating system glitches.

Error 720: Unable to connect to remote computer. You may need to change your network connection settings...

Solutions:

Method number 1. Reset the settings and restore the original LSP Winsock configuration, to do this, click START-> RUN, enter the cmd command and get into the system console. Enter the command to reset the Winsocks directory: netsh winsockreset. We restart the computer, check the network connection settings and VPN settings, start the VPN connection.

Method number 2. We reset the configuration of the IP interfaces, for this in the system console (key combination win + r) we write the command - netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt. We restart the computer, if necessary, configure the network connection. Let's start the connection.

Method number 3. Reinstalling the TCP stack. Delete two registry keys associated with Winsock. To do this, press the key combination WIN+R, in the window that opens, type regedit. In the registry editor window, look for and delete branches HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Service\Winsock2

We restart the computer. After reboot, open the folder WINDOWS\INF and looking for a file nettcpip.inf. Be sure to make a backup, then open the file in notepad and edit:

; TCPIP has properties to display Characteristics = 0xA0 ; NCF_HAS_UI | NCF_NOT_USER_REMOVABLE

Change the line Characteristics so that the following

; TCPIP has properties to display Characteristics = 0x80 ; NCF_HAS_UI

step 1. Go to Control Panel section select item select "Properties" and press the button "Install". In the window that opens, select the item "Protocol" and press the button "Add". Next click "Install from disk". I go to the folder WINDOWS\INF and choose a file nettcpip.inf, press "OK" and close all windows.

If an error occurs when starting the VPN connection, then you need to remember its three-digit code. As a rule, errors have the code 6XX ( errors associated with incorrect password entry, name or communication protocol type selection and indicate that the network is working, but you need to check the input data), 7XX( errors related to incorrect connection settings and indicate that the network is working, but you need to check the settings) or 8XX ( errors related to network setup problems or lack of network connectivity).
Below are some of the codes:

The encoding attempt failed because no valid certificate was found.
Causes of occurrence: The VPN client is trying to use the L2TP/IPSec protocol to connect.
Advice:
Enter VPN connection settings-Properties->Network->VPN type and select PPTP VPN

789
Wrong VPN connection type selected
Advice:
Go to the VPN connection settings and on the "Network" tab from the "Type of VPN" list, select "Automatic" or "PPTP VPN". Try to reconnect

800
Failed to create a VPN connection. The server is unavailable or the security settings for this connection are not configured correctly
Possible reasons:
1. Firewall blocks outgoing VPN requests
2. There is no connection to the local network.
3. someone changed access attributes (instead of vpn - international phone number).
4. For some reason, the request does not reach the server, i.e. perhaps the gateway of your segment does not allow the request due to the load or failure.
5. stack destruction
Advice:
1. In the firewall, you need to open TCP port 1723 and IP protocol 47 (GRE), or, if required by the firewall settings, enter the IP address of your VPN server (the IP is specified in the information for the client).
2. Check if there is a physical connection (whether the lights on the network card on the back of your computer are on), whether the network cable is plugged into the slot on the network card and into the socket (if any). Then check if LAN connection is enabled. To do this, click the "Start" button, then "Control Panel", then "Network Connections". In the window that appears, find "Local Area Connection" and turn it on if it was turned off. Check TCP/IP protocol settings - Click the "Start"->"Run" button. In the line, enter the “cmd” command, in the DOS window that opens, enter the “ipconfig” command - it should give you your IP address, subnet mask and default gateway, if this information is not available, it means that the local network is turned off or there is no physical connection.
3. Make sure that the VPN server address is correctly specified in the VPN connection settings (VPN-Properties->General->Computer name or destination IP address).
4. Check the signal passing with the ping command to your gateway, and then to your VPN server.
Click the "Start"->"Run" button. In the line, enter the command “cmd”, in the DOS window that opens, enter the command:
ping 192.168.100.254
ping 80.252.128.110 (10.255.255.32)
where in this case 80.252.128.110 is the VPN server and 192.168.100.254 is the gateway address. You can find out your access server and gateway address in the “subscriber profile” or using the “ipconfig” command (see point 2).
If in the DOS window that opens you see something like "The specified node is not available" or "The request timeout has been exceeded", then there may be problems on your computer or on the line. If a response comes from the host at the specified speed (usually it happens quickly), then most likely the problem is in your computer. In any case, check the second point (2).
5. Destruction of the stack - a description of some general failure in the interaction of network components that make up the TCP / IP stack. The reasons for the occurrence may be damage to OS files (disk failure), invasion of viruses and Trojans, errors during reconfiguration (did not give a distribution kit, did not remove the old network card driver before installing a new one). Fixed by repairing corrupted files, removing viruses, and Reinstalling Windows. Install and reconfigure the network components and VPN connection according to the network setup instructions.
